The Outdoor Education and Adventure Education industry has been through waves of setbacks for the past five years. Covid-19 is yet another challenge that questioned our sustainability as an industry.

I continue to be amazed at the resilience demonstrated by our practitioner and organisational members. During this period, some transitioned to take on transportation/delivery jobs; others utilised their years of operational know-how and experience to contribute to areas of need such as the dormitory operations for our migrant worker friends. Some even managed to pivot digitally and transformed their programs into virtual experiential learning.

This year’s conference will be taking on a blended approach as we work with our panel of speakers and experts in multiple venues to ensure that everyone gets an optimised experience and take away something meaningful. I would like to extend special thanks to our conference committee for tirelessly putting together the conference.
